There are so many tissues on the market, what is the difference between them?

In household paper, toilet paper specifically refers to toilet paper, tissue paper includes facial tissue (including box and plastic bag soft tissue), napkins, paper handkerchiefs, wiping paper includes toilet paper and kitchen paper, etc.

1. Toilet paper is different from tissues

In household paper, toilet paper specifically refers to toilet paper, tissue paper includes facial tissue (including box and plastic bag soft tissue), napkins, paper handkerchiefs, wiping paper includes toilet paper and kitchen paper, etc.

PS: Napkins, tissues, and handkerchiefs are all tissues. What is the difference between them?

Generally speaking, the hygiene standards for tissue paper are consistent, while napkins, tissues, and handkerchiefs have similar uses without much difference. Even if there are differences in folding, packaging, and usage scenarios. For example, boxed tissues are commonly used at home and in the office, while small packets of tissues, commonly referred to as napkins, are often used when going out.

2. Comparison of toilet paper and tissue paper quality

From the perspective of pulp raw materials, toilet paper and toilet paper can use waste paper raw materials, namely recycled paper, while tissue paper and kitchen paper must use native pulp.

From the perspective of hygiene standards, namely microbial indicators, toilet paper and toilet paper are not as strict as tissue paper and kitchen paper. For example, the total number of bacterial colonies in the former cannot exceed 600 per gram of paper, while the latter cannot exceed 200. Moreover, the production workshops for tissue paper and kitchen paper must be disinfected and isolated according to the standards for disposable hygiene products, while there are no special requirements for toilet paper and toilet paper.

So, toilet paper and toilet paper are usually not used to wipe the mouth, nor can they be used to wipe items that come into direct contact with the mouth, such as fruits and tableware. And tissue paper and kitchen paper can be said to have the highest hygiene standards and can be used to wipe the mouth.

3. What is the difference between native wood pulp, native wood pulp, and pure wood pulp?

Primary pulp

It refers to pure primary fibers, which can be divided into wood pulp, straw pulp, sugarcane pulp, cotton pulp, bamboo pulp, reed pulp, etc. due to their different sources.

Native wood pulp

It is a type of native pulp, derived from wood pulp, which is a pulp made solely from wood chips cooked and extracted fibers; Simply put, native wood pulp is a pure pulp made directly from wood chips without being used.

Pure wood pulp

It may include recycled pulp, also known as waste pulp, which may be made from recycled "waste" paper as raw material. It is usually used to make toilet paper and wipe your butt.

The main ingredients of the vast majority of tissues on the market are divided into two types: natural wood pulp and pure wood pulp. Only tissues made of 100% natural wood pulp can be used as napkins. If you are concerned about health issues, try to choose tissues made with natural wood pulp ingredients.

4. Is paper whiter and cleaner?

Hygiene is not necessarily related to whether it is white or not. Many people believe that the whiter the paper, the cleaner and more hygienic it is, which is a misconception. The cost of paper bleaching is high, but it is not related to hygiene indicators. Toilet paper only needs to meet hygiene standards, there is no need to emphasize whiteness or smoothness.

As for tissue paper, sometimes these are emphasized, but it is also due to personal factors such as consumer aesthetics and preferences. As long as you are willing to bear the cost of bleaching, you can consider whether it is white or not, and whether there are exquisite patterns.

However, the whiter the tissue, the better, as there may be manufacturers who add fluorescent whitening agents to improve the whiteness of the product. Fluorescent whitening agents are a type of polycyclic benzoxazole chemical substance that has been proven to have carcinogenic effects.
